    Localization Thread Empty Localization Thread

Post  Alpar Sat Oct 06, 2012 9:43 pm

So here in this thread we discuss games that aren't localized and have low chances to none of being localized. We then discuss why we should support localization for it, and from there decide ourselves whether we support it or not. So of course how else to start this than by discussing Project X Zone.

Major thanks to Soul for moving this thread so I didn't have to copy and paste myself.

    So. This game.

A.k.a. This game will never be localized the thread

A.a.k.a. The game as of right now that takes the highest priority for localization

A.a.a.k.a. And let's hope it doesn't inherit the sins of its father.

The ultimate crossover game among Sega, Capcom, Bandai Namco, and Banpresto comes a game about to be released in Japan about 4 days from now. Project X Zone.

The sequel to the (badly received despite its pretty good opening) Namco X Capcom (which we hope will not muck up its son) presented on the Nintendo 3DS as an exclusive. The layout plays like a strategy RPG but the fights look like something out of a beatemup. Since it's ultimately being produced by Banpresto, perhaps it'll be like a mix of Super Robot Wars and Endless Frontier? One can only hope it's at least good.

People presented in pairs will be assumed to work together at the start. People that are alone will be used as supports.

The following characters are as listed:

    CAPCOM:

Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine (Resident Evil)
Dante and Demitri Maximoff (Devil May Cry and Darkstalkers respectively)
    Ryu and Ken (Street Fighter)
    X and Zero (Megaman X)
Chun-Li & Morrigan Aensland (Street Fighter and Darkstalkers respectively)
Frank West and Hsien-Ko (Dead Rising and Darkstalkers respectively)
    Lady (Devil May Cry)
    Tron Bonne (Megaman Legends)
    Arthur (Ghostsn' Goblins)
    Devilotte (Cyberbots)

    SEGA (inb4 Sonic fanboy whining):

Kurt Irving and Riella Marcellis (Valkyria Chronicles)
Sakura Shinguji and Ichiro Ogami (Sakura Wars)
Akira Yuki and Pai Chan (Virtua Fighter)
Toma and Cyrille (Shining Force EXA)
Gemini Sunrise & Erica Fontaine (Sakura Wars)
Zephyr and Leanne (Resonance of Fate)
    Ulala (Space Channel 5)
    Imca (Valkyria Chronicles III)
    Bruno Delinger (Dynamite Deka)
    Rikiya Busujima (Zombie Revenge)
    Bahn (Fighting Vipers)

    BANDAI NAMCO:

Yuri Lowell and Estellise Sidos Heurassein (Tales of Vesperia)
Jin Kazama and Ling Xiaoyu (Tekken)
    KOS-MOS and T-elos (Xenosaga)
    Kite and Black Rose (.hack)
Soma Schicksal and Alisa Ilinichina Amiella (God Eater)
    Flynn Scifo (Tales of Vesperia)
    Alisa Bosconovitch (Tekken)
    Lindow Amamiya (God Eater)
Valkyrie (Valkyrie no Bōken: Toki no Kagi Densetsu)
    Neneko/Neito (Yumeria)

    BANPRESTO ORIGINALS:

Haken Browning and Kaguya Nanbu (Endless Frontier)
Reiji Arisu and Xiaomu (Namco x Capcom)
    Sanger Zonvolt (Super Robot Wars)

And of course since it's a crossover game, what's a crossover game without some crossover villains? This game will also feature Juri, Seth, some Banpresto original villains, a revamped Gespenst as an actual boss, though we don't have a full list of actual confirmed villains.
Since it's come from Namco X Capcom, there's the potential it could be bad anyway. But it could also be an amazing potential for the west to perhaps see the greatest crossover game ever created. Let's support localization for this.

For those curious on any updates regarding Project X Zone, here's one.

Katsuhiro Harada, one of the major producers for Bandai Namco, and head of the Tekken series here in this video is talking about a miniature advertising campaign at NYCC 2012.

I believe somewhere in the video he says he's not allowed to talk about it directly because it wasn't showcased at any events or whatever, but he's very much considering it localized, hence the advertisement campaign he's going for.

EDIT: In other news, the OST is being posted.

And someone already started a walkthrough. Of course it had to be AginoEvo of all people.
